Psychology is the study of the human mind and human behaviour.
Psychologists aim to provide you with education on the relationship between your thoughts, feelings and behaviours so that you can better understand yourself and whatever may be troubling you. Psychologists help you understand how your unique past has shaped and influenced your present; as well as uncover unhelpful thinking and behavioural patterns that you have created to cope with experiences from your past and whatever may be troubling you.
Psychologists at Lighthouse can diagnose and treat a wide variety of mental illnesses and use an eclectic approach, (strategies from many different therapeutic approaches) when addressing your specific concerns.
Psychologists at Lighthouse have all received tertiary qualifications at University, are all registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and eligible to provide services under Medicare Australia. All Psychologists practice according to the ethics and standards set by the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
