John is Clinical Psychologist registered with AHPRA, is a member of the Australian Psychological Society and its College of Clinical Psychologists, and also holds membership with the Association for Contextual behavioural Science. He has experience working as a Psychologist in both the private and public sectors with a very diverse range of clients and presentations.He has worked with many veterans and current-serving members of the ADF, Federal Police, NSW Police, NSW Fire Brigade, and other first responder services.  John  is experienced in working with both offenders and victims of crime, has experience working with persons marginalized due to race, ethnicity, culture, disability, and gender identity in a number of different contexts.

John specializes in providing therapy for people who have experienced trauma and provides a service for a diverse range of other mental health problems including problems with mood and anxiety, substance use, grief and loss, specific phobias, personality disorders, psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia, self-harm and suicidal behaviours, stress and adjustment problems, problems in the workplace, difficulties with relationships, and anger management to name a few. In addition to individual therapy, he also has experience providing couples therapy. John is available to provide individual services under the Medicare, DVA, and Workcover NSW schemes. He is also an approved treatment provider under the Work and Development Order (WDO) scheme. 

He primarily uses classical Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). As a therapist he is warm, enthusiastic, and practical. He treats all clients with an unconditional positive regard, and recognizes the importance of the therapeutic relationship and the strengths a client brings to the process. In addition to providing psychological therapy, John is able to provide a psychological assessment and reporting service for medico-legal, forensic, and other purposes. John consults from our Campbelltown and Moorebank rooms.
